O. J. Cantrell

Oscar Judson (O. J.) Cantrell, Jr. was born 21MAY1920 in the Mountain View Community of South Carolina. In 1941 he was working in the textile business for Spartan Mills in Spartanburg, SC. O.J. enlisted in the army 21OCT1941. In February 1942, he married Elizabeth Garrett. O.J. was trained as a surgical tech and was attached to the 118th medical department for the entirety of their overseas time. He returned to the US on 05NOV1945 aboard the USS General C.C. Ballou and was discharged 11NOV1945. O.J. had fallen ill in China and was diagnosed with Addisons Disease upon returning home. He died 11APR1946, leaving behind his wife.
